LifeBond is like "a superglue that can treat all applications," vascular surgeon, Dr. Yuval Avni of Giza Venture Capital.

Israeli company LifeBond has created a new application for its surgical adhesive material that seals surgical wounds to specifications. Expected to be on the European market by next year, the product addresses a serious problem on the operating table.

President Abbas must do what I have done. I stood before my people, and I told you it wasn't easy for me, and I said: "I will accept a Palestinian state." It is time for President Abbas to stand before his people and say: "I will accept a Jewish state." Those six words will change history. They will make clear to the Palestinians that this conflict must come to an end. That they are not building a state to continue the conflict with Israel, but to end it.

Born to a family of Bedouin shepherds in the Negev, Ishmael Khaldi was the only one of his 11 siblings to earn an advanced degree. Now the former shepherd is a seasoned Israeli diplomat.

Over 100 rockets fired from Gaza - one killed in Beersheba

Over 20 rockets hit Israel on Sunday (August 21), one of which struck a high school, and more than 100 since Thursday's terror attacks in southern Israel (August 18). A rocket containing phosphorus was launched at Israel from Gaza on Sunday. (IDF Spokesperson)

On Saturday evening (20 August), Yossi Shushan, 38, of Ofakim was killed when a Grad rocket exploded in Beersheba. Elsewhere, a four-month-old baby and a 9-year-old boy were hurt when a rocket hit their home in Ofakim.

Gilad Shalit: 5 years in terrorist captivity

On June 25, 2006, Corporal Gilad Shalit was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists within Israeli territory, near the Gaza Strip in an unprovoked attack in which two soldiers were killed and five others wounded. Gilad is one of seven ISRAELI MIAs.


Gilad Shalit, 19 at the time of his abduction, has been held since then in the Gaza Strip by Hamas.  A videotape of Gilad Shalit in captivity was received 2 Oct 2009.

 

PM Netanyahu (23 June 2010): "Gilad Shalit has been sitting in captivity for four years, in darkness, with no visit from the Red Cross. The international community needs to stand alongside Israel in demanding Gilad Shalit's immediate release."

The Embassy of Israel in Kenya decided not to hold its usual National Day reception and instead used the funds to renovate the Oncological Department of a children's hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.  The Israeli Deputy Ambassador there, Mr. Elbaz-Starinsky, added a personal touch with his artistic flair by hand painting a cheerful Mickey Mouse on the wall of the hospital.
